The main purpose of this project was to empower ordinary citizens and especially local interest groups in order to keep their locally elected official accountable to their own platform promises by providing qualitative and relevant comparative information. This project was based on the argument that better transparency improves the chance of citizens and interest groups to keep their elected officials accountable and that an active approach of the media should be encouraged. The project monitored the performance of newly elected mayors in Tirane, Durres, Berat, Shkoder. The findings were published in a series of conferences for each of the monitored municipality.
